  5. Hi, thanks for the great tips. I am just setting up my new Magnifica S and while preforming the water hardness test, the indicator strip did not change colour at any level, staid the same. Should I be Concerned?

  8. The water temperature was set to 2 and was what I believe was holding the machine back from making better tasting coffee. Thanks for the great video

  9. Great video – I’ve sold my semi auto setup and am moving back to a fully auto, as I missed the convenience of my last machine. I had no issue with darker roasts which extracted well but always struggled with medium roasts and I now know that I had the temp too low and ratio too short. Can’t wait to try again soon!

  10. Very happy that i found this video day 3 of owning this machine. What a difference!!
My tip is to always have a cup beneath the dispenser. When the machine switch off, it always let out a little water. Better to leave a cup then let it fill up the tray.
Thanks A LOT for your useful video.

  12. Wait, I only use these machines for long coffee and never use the espresso button. Should I tweak it differently based on that or use the espresso button and add water?

  13. Before installing the waterfilter you must fill it with water. Hold it upside-down under water en pump the air out till it is completely full of water. Then put it upside-down in the watercontainer and turn in under waterlevel to install it. otherwise you use only half capacity of the filter, because there is air in the top part of it.

  16. Thanks for the tips, even if I applied them and even with a good quality coffee, the espresso/ lungo are way to hot to even be drunk. (With the lowest temperature set). Overall i am quite dissatisfied with this machine.

  24. 3:33 1) Instruction says next – you can adjust grind level only while grinder is working. Otherwise you can break grinder or warp grinder rings, that affects on coffee quality.
    2) Also you can use food lemon acid for descaling.
    3) It won't be superfluous to remove coffee oils from tubes and dispenser using special tablets, although Delonghi doesn't require that, same as some Philips models. I have a Nivona machine, and it requires that each 200 cups.

  29. Thank you for this video. I have this machine for couple of days now and I have a question, because Im not sure I quite understand, if I get around 40g of brewed coffee at the end of the process how can I elongate the brewing process? For example if I want 30g of espresso with 20 sec. brewing what should I do? Now I get 40g of espresso with 15 sec. brewing.

  31. Please help me and the wife and our life – I tried changing the temperature settings, but the manual was DEFINITELY not very clear on the first step which was "confirm with power button" – I've no idea if that means do it in an off or on state but anyway it said to hold the short espresso, but then it started pouring an espresso and had gone into the mode of changing the default value setting of the short espresso quantity (40ml) so it gave a full mug of espresso until i realized and clicked it. I do know how to manually set it to whatever I want, but the wife REALLY wants it back to the default value as it for some reason doesnt taste espresso anymore and a lot of her recipes are based on 40ml EXACTLY.
I was in contact with delonghi support and they said (i have model without powerswitch on back) to unplug, hold the power and espresso button key while plugging it back in, the lights will start flashing and after a couple of seconds it will stop and its set back to factory settings. MINE DOESN'T EVER STOP blinking until i let go of the buttons but it has not reset upon trying. No amount of googling or watching non-english vids have solved it for me

  34. I got the delonghi dinamica and found that the optimal settings are strength 3 and grind 3. I didn't measure the amount of coffee per level of strength, but I believe its around 9-10 grams per shot.

  35. I've got the same machine since a few days. The first few espresso's were not as expected. Thanks to your tips I've changed some of the settings, installed the waterfilter and my double espresso (2 X single) tastes now as I like it. BTW, I use LaVazza beans dark roast strength 5-10

  36. I use another brand and it’s quite nice to use especially if you have limited time for your morning coffee. But you should keep it obsessively clean if you want to keep it healthy (free of bacteria). Because it keeps the hot and wet coffee grounds inside, the atmosphere inside the machine is incredibly humid. Not cleaning inside for a month (as told on video) might cause new species to form 🙂

  37. this coffe machine is rubbish. I own it for almost 2 years. after months of use its not frothing the milk properly. milk is airy and not creamy anymore. not enough of preasure in wand. it taste like ordinary hot milk. I'm going to send it for repairs for the 2nd time with the same issue. I was descaling it once in a month, replacing water filter every other month, and the problem still comes back. Coffe is good when machine is working properly though.
