The Best Espresso Machines Under £100

This was heavily requested, and to be honest – it was a pretty interesting experiment.
If Patrons don’t want the other machines then I will be donating them to charity locally (and safely).

  2. I still have my cheap espresso at home and still running after 4 years. Makes great coffee to me, I havent had a coffee made from an expensive espresso machine to compare it with which is probably a good thing..

  5. 2022: The new Amazon Basics is a lot better, and they've replaced the dial with switches. Looks and performs much better.

  7. I have a delonghi but an older version off ebay secondhand. I find it makes better espresso with a coarser grind. Very happy with mine although when it dies I would look at a sage machine. The delonghi build quality isn't the best and it tends to leak steam a bit out the steam wand. I have had it for 4 years and it is still going strong 💪 .

  8. Awsome channel! Why don't you make a test of Gaggia Viva / Saeco Poemia. Its cheap but it is widely considered to make a pretty good expresso 😉

  10. Hi! Thanks for your sharing your research with all of us. I am writing from the States, so I don’t know if this will be relevant. In case this is of any use: I am not nearly as technically knowledgeable as you about anything coffee, especially espresso machines. But I’ve had quite a good run with very inexpensive Capresso espresso machines (made by Jura, inc.). I paid about $60-65 USD for each, and had two of them for around a decade each. I’m sure the coffee quality isn’t the very best, and probably would disappoint you, but it’s been fine for me. Cheers!

  11. I use to have an "espresso machine" very similar to these. It was a mr coffee machine, it had a standard unpressurized portafilter. This was when I first started getting into coffee. I thought it was okay back then, but I also had no clue what I was talking about, or what coffee should taste like. I've now been a barista for a number of years and have a pretty decent set up at home. Part of me wishes I could go back and see if with my knowledge I could actually make a decent shot of espresso on that machine.

  14. Thank you for your professional opinion. You were the one who taught me the right way to use a French Press, which I love. But am interested, possibly, in an Espresso machine that doesn’t bankrupt me. Like you, I’d rather put off buying till I could get a decently working machine with a great coffee experience, don’t need the Cadillac edition, but would if I had the $$$$, LOL! Blessings to you sir!

  16. My wife bought me the krupps one. It isn't terrible, but it doesn't have a rich flavour for sure. I use mine for lattes though (boo hiss from the purists). I am annoyed the frother won't really allow me to make nice creamy milk patterns in my cup though

  17. Thanks! I've been researching around, and every other review seems to be biased or straight out bought, and I almost got a machine but decided to research further. Your video is by far the most educational of them all. I'm gonna save my money and got a decent machine down the line. I'm stuck on a dripping machine until then.

  18. There are some really interesting options on the Under £200 range espresso machines, with many options of makes like Gaccia and DeLonghi .
That would be a great entry level option for a budget . And would make for a great video

  19. The missus got one that's basically identical to the Swan, it's not great but it makes coffee that's not instant and only cost her £5 due to a coupon. But we'll upgrade shortly as we are both graduated now.

oh and the steamer stopped working after a month.

  20. My brother once bought one of those DeLonghi machines, but we didn't have a grinder at that point. What it produced with store bought espresso was vile.
It fell into disuse, but some water remained in the container. When i eventually bought a grinder and wanted to try again, the water that came out was rusty. Couldn't get it clean even after a dozen or so rinses. Bit sad, but we got rid of it. I'd be up to try and get the most okay espresso possible out of it if we still had it.
